We helped establish the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the society and have served on the board of directors of both. Ned Jaquith, the late founder of Bamboo Garden, was elected in 2006, as vice president of the ABS and has been awarded Honorary Lifetime Membership due to over 25 years of whole-hearted efforts and generous bamboo knowledge.

The first day of the new millennium, January 1, 2000 was on of the most keenly anticipated events in recent memory. It was a particularly special day for Chris Docksteader. That was the day Chris arrived in Lake Country for good. He'd visited the area as a child growing up in Vancouver, but when a job promotion meant relocating here, he viewed the move as an amazing gift and opportunity.
