Best Chinese food and Fish & Chips restaurant in town! Really friendly service and delicious food! There are special offers in the restaurant: breakfast buffet on Saturday & Sunday from 8am-12pm for $6.99 per person. And dinner buffet is from Friday to Sunday from 5pm to 8pm, adult $12 and child $10. There are lunch special as well (two set combo selections for you to pick) limited time offer from 11am-3pm for $6.99! Strongly recommend this place to you all!

Somthin Fishy on Mill Street in Elora is the best takeout fish and chips EVER! The coldslaw is GREAT, the servings are generous, and the fries are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Our order was ready in less than 10 minutes. In the summer, we order ahead and go to the park across the street to sit and eat beside the river. Life doesn't get any better than this!

Another delicious meal at Umberto's last night, with great service, a quiet table, and an unpretentious atmosphere. A side note, but important, they hit just the right note with the background music. Smooth jazz at just enough volume to enjoy. It was fairly quiet for a Thursday night, but the other half dozen or so tables were also filled with diners expressing their appreciation for a good meal.
Beef carpaccio was, like all the dishes, the perfect size portion. My husband and I shared it well as the bruschetta, which was a little too cheesy for me but perfect for him. The chef salad is a great mix of greens and veg with a nice vinaigrette. The ostrich and kangaroo - what can I say - grilled/sauteed just beautifully and mouthwateringly delicious. The Shiraz reduction was a very nice accompaniment to the kangaroo. Both entrees were served with roasted veg and potatoes, nicely seasoned, as well as a charming little fresh vegetable relish/slaw on radicchio. Shared a bottle of 2009 Rosemount Cab Shiraz, chosen from the small but interesting wine list, proved a good choice. We lingered over tiramisu and flourless chocolate hazelnut cake, preferring the tiramisu. The "Umberto" specialty coffee was a lovely finish to the meal. Ingredients were fresh, attention was paid to presentation, and the service was very attentive yet not intrusive. We will definitely be back. (I will try the seafood pasta next time - 3 of the table of 6 near us ordered it as their favorite)

Not sure about the other reviewer, but after reading this review, I had to register and give an opinion on one of our favorite little take out places we know.
We visit our cottage regularly about 2 kms from this "super" Chip Wagon, mostly in the summer months, and have many local friends who all rave about the food at George's (from what we understand, it's not the owner's name).
The ice cream is great, and we order it EVERY time - judging by all the tall white ice cream bins and the ice cream menu sign out front, Reid's dairy is the supplier from Belleville.
The burgers and fresh cut fries are fantastic, I'm not a fish lover, but our friends order their halibut fish & chips EVERY time we go.
As for locals, our local friends said this place has been there for like 10-15 or more years, some of them claim to have gained weight from eating there so often, so have to disagree with the local opinion comments - though I guess any time you go to a small town, opinions will may vary!
In our family opinion, it's a lovely place to eat, great atmosphere on the way to the local beaches and cottages, on a nice summer weekend. We would and have, recommended to anyone we know!

Best wings around period!! Halibut is also fabulous for the fish lover. Location is licensed with exception price on beer. There lb is a true pound and not wimpy skinny things most places serve. I have been eating these for years.
