The Dark Horse is an adventure launched and located in the historic olde Sunderland Fire Hall. Founded by Lianne Megarry, The Dark Horse is an intriguing combination of original art, antiques and home décor. All the art is original and Canadian.
Monika is a visual fine artist who captures the vitality and energy that surrounds us each day. Born in Toronto as Monika Niewisiewicz, then used the last name of Dickson. She has enjoyed both city and country life. In January 2015, she remarried and uses the surname of Shepherdson. Favourite mediums are acrylic and oil on canvas. Abstracts and Landscapes are her specialty. Awarded at the Markham Mayor's Show, and exhibited at the McKay Art Centre for several years in Markham, many of her works are collected internationally.
I am truly grateful to those of you who have supported me through my journey, as well as those who have purchased my work and continue to do so on a regular basis. You have inspired me to continue. I seek to capture the sensual stimulation that comes from nature itself, keep it in my heart and share it in my paintings. I hope you enjoy my interpretations and movement.
