Welcome Chief Scott MartinA vibrant Mi'gmaw community, Listuguj is located in the southwestern part of the Gaspé Peninsula (Québec). The Appalachian Mountains surround us, and the Restigouche River runs along the southern border of our community. The province of New Brunswick is just across the river.Listuguj has a population of approximately 3,768 – there are 2,060 Mi'gmaq people living in the community and 1,708 of our members live off reserve. Just over half of the population is under the age of thirty. In our community we speak Mi'gmaw, English and French; most of the fluent Mi'gmaw language speakers are over the age fifty.

The Union of Education Workers of Eastern Quebec (STEEQ-CSQ) is a labor organization with more than 2,000 contributors working in the field of education in the Gaspésie and Îles-de-la-Madeleine. Support staff, teachers Steeq members are spread over the territory of the Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine in three school boards. The union structure is a reflection of the original member jurisdictions. The territory of each school board representing a separate territory in the structure of STEEQ.
