Aboriginal people inthe last century.Aseniwuche Winewak is Cree for Rocky Mountain People. We are descended primarily from Cree who moved west with the fur trade and integrated with tribes in the eastern Rocky Mountains. Our traditional territory spanned a great distance: from Jasper north to Grande Prairie; from McBride east to Lac Ste. Anne. Although our People are linked to First Nations across Canada, our community has no recognized Constitutional status. In 1907, our People were forced to leave the Jasper area to create the National Park.
