This is a house on the Orillia waterfront, actually located on Couchiching Point, which is an upscale neighbourhood next to Tudhope Park, off of Highway 12, at the South end of Orillia. Ontario.
Not much goes on in Winter, except that it is near the Casino Rama, so if you are going to one of their shows, you could make an event of it: stay overnight, have dinner before at a local restaurant, and go home in the morning after a friendly breakfast.
In Summertime, guests come to socialise in the afternoon, maybe go out with the owners for supper or have a kitchen dinner and play some cards. There are sun dappled gardens by the water, a firepit, and as the host makes wine on the premises, a good time can generally be had by all.
There are usually some transient guests who are fun, often foreign travellers who want to see a Canadian home, though some like to keep to themselves and watch TV on the large set in the library or if they are travelling with friends, keep to themselves in the snuggery.
Occasionally there will be Voyageurs, travelling the Trent Severn waterway by boat, who like the deep safe quiet docking facility.
Most people rave about the breakfasts: Betty works her magic with the stove and Tony runs the grill. It is quite posh.
We like Sherry the best, she is a lovely lady who manages the house when the owners are away, and helps them the rest of the time. Just as good is neighbour Ron who looks after the lawn and the house and the snow and guards the place vigilantly.Read more
