I just visited John's Place for the first time after hearing many positive things about it. My friends were right – this place is amazing. I tried the tortellini, and my girlfriend tried the lasagna. Both were generous portions and had the best flavor I have ever found in a family restaurant like this. Great atmosphere too. I highly recommend John's Place.

I just got a new kitten and needed to get supplies. I didn't really know where to go till I came across this store online. I went right away and was so happy I made the trip into Oak Bay. They have an amazing selection of cat & dog toys, accessories and supplies. I definitely will be coming back here once she grows up a little more. So far this is the best privately owned pet store I have found in Victoria.

Both my late husband and myself have had our cars serviced there for years. And he had an older model Camaro and they would go the extra mile to find parts. I took my 2005 ford focus in today to just have new windshield wipers installed. They notice all my tires were low. and toped them to the proper PSI. no charge, So I really appreciate them going the extra mile. I have found courtesy goes both ways.

Helpful, knowledgable friendly staff. When I was at a loss as to help my dog, who was having health and weight issues, I was recommended to come to buddies. Switching to raw food from a lifetime of raising animals on kibble seems very overwhelming. The staff knows this and helps guide you every single step of the way. Sue went as far as to look up my dogs health condition and have information printed out the next visit, knowing what foods to go for and what to stay away from.
With their help my dogs health issues have gone away and she's down to a perfect weight.
I can't thank them enough for all their help on this life changing journey into pet nutrition.
They also have a huge selection of blends and foods to choose from. Bat a price even I can afford.

The brainchild of Dorothy Evans, The Canada Day Celebration, was a big success, bringing a tear to many an eye. Flags were flying and some members wore their native costumes. Based on a survey conducted by Dorothy, we were amazed at how many countries around the world we are connected to – sixty two in all. These facts were shown in a slideshow, while Gwen MacPherson gave a running commentary. The presentation was enriched by Dorothy, with fiddle in hand, entertaining us with Canadian folk music and songs accompanied by Pat Robertson, supported by members of the Blue Heron Singers. The grand finale was a rousing rendition of 'O Canada'.Another special event in June was our annual Pot Luck luncheon at Connie McKenzie's lovely garden. Members enjoyed a tasty lunch under gazebos scattered around the garden – a special occasion, which has been hosted by Connie for the past eight years.One of the traditions of the Association at this time of year are the Garden Tours of the Johannessens' and Watkins'.
