The North Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club, established in 1923, is one of the oldest sports clubs on the North Shore, and one of the largest lawn bowling clubs in Canada. The clubhouse is fully equipped with excellent facilities that provide space for hosting tournaments at club, Vancouver and District, Provincial and National levels of play. The club has many social activities for its members including; dinners, barbecues, parties, darts, cribbage and bridge. Our mission is to encourage and grow the sport of Lawn Bowling and to provide year - round activities in a friendly and social atmosphere.
The Pacific Indoor Bowls Club officially began in 1938. The original depression-era facility, located on the corner of 19th Ave and Main St, was constructed for under $15,000 thanks to community support. The club was popular right from the start: there have never been less than 200 names on the membership roster. PIBC has something for everyone: coaching for members looking to learn; fun leagues and events for less competitive players and competitive leagues for the die-hard bowlers.
In 1950 the club was reorganized and incorporated under the British Columbia Societies Act as the Ladner Lawn Bowling Club. The Ladner Ladies Lawn Bowling Club was absorbed by the Ladner Lawn Bowling Club in 1972.
