The Toucan and Kirkpatrick's is one Kingston's best Irish-British Pubs. This is, "the local," for many 21-40+ Kingstonians.
The Great selection of beers and liquor, live music at least one day a week, daily specials and sunday breakfast special, make this establishment a favorite. The staff is friendly, and the food is reasonably priced and is usually quite good. However, this place is a Pub first, then a Restaurant. It is solid UK+US "Pub Grub." Wings, Nachos, Meat Pies, Bangers and Mash Fish n' Chips are reliably awesome.
The review below is not an accurate depiction of the place, however, it may well take 45mins on a Sunday morning or afternoon to get food quickly due to the $3.50 breakfast special and the hangover destructing properties inherent to the aura of the toucan, which draw many over-zealous drinkers.Read more

I agree with the previous poster. Arguably the best fish and chips in Kingston. The batter is light, crispy and the fish is fresh and not mushy or watery. Good beer selection as well.
Dont pass this place up if you are a fan of fish and chips.Read more
The Kingston Brewing Company is Ontario's oldest brew pub. Beers, wines, ciders and soda pops are made on the premises. Food is pub standard with unique twists and beer used in many of the recipes. A courtyard and street-front patio, as well as a banquet room.
One of the nicest and friendliest little pubs around. Wonderful atmosphere, great beer selection, terrific food exceeds typical "pub" fare. Live acoustic music featuring top notch local and touring performers makes this place a "must stop" if travelling in or near the lovely little town of Gananoque.Read more
