The Barrington Regional Curling Club is a part of the Barrington Municipal RecreationComplex. Our curling season starts in mid-October, with two weeks of open curling fornew participants wanting to learn and for seasoned curlers wanting to get in somepractice before league play begins. TOWN OF LOCKEPORT OFFICIAL WEB SITEThe original settlers of Lockeport, which was known for a long time as Ragged Islands, were Dr. Jonathan Locke of Chillmark, Mass., and Josiah Churchill who arrived here in approximately 1761. Their purpose was to select the spot best suited with regard to the fishing grounds. Lockeport was incorporated in 1907.
The concept of constructing a new 9 hole golf course in Clare crystallized in 1966 when 80 interested citizens, spearheaded by Dave and Louis Gaudet, met to investigate the possibility of building a golf course in their region. The first Board of Directors worked extremely hard over the winter and their goal of raising $ 35,000 was met by the spring of 1967.
