Haida Gwaii Society for Community Peace is a nonprofit organization located in Masset, Haida Gwaii, B.C. Operating since 1995, our first volunteer Board of Directors, established the Tllaa Juuhldaa Naay Transition House. Our organization has expanded, with the inclusion of additional progams, based on community needs. Our efforts focus on: the saftey of women and children, reducing violence, and promoting peace on Haida Gwaii. VISION STATEMENTThe Haida Gwaii Society for Community Peace (HGSCP) exists to provide equality housing and support for survivors of family violence on Haida Gwaii. Our Board members will provide leadership and direction to develop a progressive Transition House, which will assist residents to meet their needs. We envision programming that will provide secure housing and opportunities in life skills to build selfesteem and awareness. This will create a proactive image for our society and encourage individual responsibility and community participation.
