The of Bang A Beat Family-Centred Therapies is Jaclyn D. Sorenson, MTA, MT-BC, NMT. She is both accredited through the Canadian Association for Music Therapy as well as Board Certified through the Americam Music Therapy Association. In 2009, she went on to earn her advanced credentials as a Neurologic Music Therapist from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. She is currently a member of both the Canadian Association for Music Therapy and the American Music Therapy Association.

Ian graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2000 with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and was fully registered as a psychologist in 2002 with the Psychological Association of Manitoba. Dr. Ian has been married for over 22 years and has 8 children (ages-almost 1 year, 3 years, 7 years, 9 years, 11 years, 14 years, 17 years, and 20 years of age). Personally, Dr. Ian became a Christian in 1987 and since then has held firmly to a Christian worldview perspective. Dr. Ian has been heavily influenced in his understanding of how to help people by the teachings of Dr. Larry Crabb, Dr. E. James Wilder, Dr. Karl Lehman, and Dr. Ed Smith.
