Dance Theme School of Dance has helped the Edmonton dancers to fulfill their passion, enhance skills and improve the dance technique for 30 years. DFAD has proudly served the Sherwood Park community for nearly 30 years, providing quality dance education in a positive, supportive, and family-environment. We offer classes for all ages and abilities, from preschool and recreational dancers to competitive and intensive training students. Our programs include Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Acro, Musical Theatre, Aerial Arts, and Adult Dance.
DFAD offers 3 training streams: Recreational, Competitive, and Power Program, allowing students to pursue dance at a level that aligns with their goals and commitment. Our experienced faculty is dedicated to developing strong technical foundations while fostering confidence, discipline, creativity, and a lifelong love of dance. Through performances, examinations, festivals, workshops, and community involvement, students gain valuable skills both inside and outside the studio. As we celebrate our 30th Anniversary Season, we remain committed to inspiring excellence.
Though most competitor couples concentrate on either Latin or Standard dance, Dominic and Delphine excelled in both - consistently ranking among the top three couples in every type of competition - Latin, Standard and the combined 10-Dance.
Shumka presents full-length, professional dance theatre touring productions, as well as intimate concert repertoire, across Canada and around the world. These productions marry the genre of Ukrainian dance with classical and contemporary movement to create dramatic storylines, which are recognized as distinctively Shumka-style.
