Rose of Sharon Services for Young Mothers is a not-for-profit, charitable organization providing support and educational services to pregnant and parenting young women under the age of 25 across York Region.Since 1985, we have given young mothers the opportunity to work towards their goals in a supportive, learning-centered environment while parenting their young children. We founded our first Inspiration Learning Center in Toronto in 2003 and have since expanded to six learning centers in the GTA with two home-away-from-home, residential, home-stay houses.Our learning centers offer excellent, professional tutoring services from highly skilled and dedicated teachers who have had many years of experience in their fields. We believe that every student can reach their full academic potential and develop a true love of and thirst for learning if they receive the right support, and that the tried and tested way to ensure this is by taking a student-centered approach to our teaching methods.

The aim is to relieve distress by discussing and expressing feelings; to help change attitudes, behaviour and habits that may be unhelpful; and to assist more helpful ways of coping.
Generally the difference between psychotherapy and counselling is the amount of time or sessions the individual requires, and the depth of issues he/she may be facing. Psychotherapy may be used to address a mental health diagnosis whereas counselling is geared toward learning how to overcome problems and challenges.

Andreia Pereira is a recent graduate of Sir Sanford Fleming College's Massage Therapy program and is now registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. During her three years of studies, she developed a strong physiology, disease processes, treatments of various conditions, the use of heat and cold as therapy and remedial exercise. In addition to these credentials she also accomplished extra educational credits in the subjects of holistic health, sign language and business. Throughout her educational career she gained clinical experience by being an active student therapist at the On-Campus Student Massage Therapy Clinic, where she practiced on a variety of clients such as: athletes, prenatal women, palliative care and mental health patients. Andrea has also spent the past four summers working and volunteering with children with autism and cerebral palsy.

Ilana Katz is a registered Speech-Language Pathologist who received her Undergraduate Degree in Health Sciences as well as her Master of Clinical Science degree from the University of Western Ontario. Ilana is registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) as well as Speech-Language and Audiology of Canada (SAC).
