After training as a dressmaker and professional women's tailor in her native Belarus, Marina immigrated to Canada in 1993, with her husband and two small children. She has worked in various commercial and retail sewing establishments throughout the area in order to familiarize herself with the Canadian market.During this time Marina also learned to speak fluent English and honed her dressmaking skills further by designing and making clothes for family and friends .
