West End Diagnostic Imaging (WEDI) was established in 1978. This IHF facility has maintained outstanding high quality private outpatient services at the west end of Toronto. Our office is located on the main floor of a Toronto West Professional center, Ontario, Canada. We provide imaging services to the physicians in High Park, Etobicoke, Bloor West, and surrounding areas. At present, West End Diagnostic Imaging performs General Radiographic services, GI/Fluoroscopy services, Mammography, as well as General Musculo-skeletal, Prostate and Vascular Ultrasound (4 rooms). The facility also provides Transrectal Prostate US (TRUS), TRUS-guided prostate biopsies, and hysterosonograms.

In physics the term 'ultrasound' applies to all acoustic energy with a frequency above human hearing (20,000 hertz or 20 kilohertz). Typical diagnostic sonographic scanners operate in the frequency range of 2 to 18 megahertz, hundreds of times greater than this limit. The choice of frequency is a trade-off between spatial resolution of the image and imaging depth: lower frequencies produce less resolution but image deeper into the body.
