Photo Central has been serving Winnipeg's photographers since 1975, when Dick Toews took over management of what was then Independent Photo Centre. In 1991 the name was changed to Photo Central Inc when Dick took over full ownership. Photo Central continued to grow and adapt over the years, and has seen the introduction and explosion of digital products and the rapid change it has made in the industry in the last decade. Photo Central was purchased by Dick's son, Andrew, in the spring of 2008. Andrew has since made the necessary changes to ensure that Photo Central is equipped to function and flourish in a rapidly changing marketplace without sacrificing who we are or what we think a business should be. What has always set Photo Central apart from its competition is its commitment to service and customer satisfaction. We use current, best practice research in the field of youth development, social work, adventure therapy and experiential education to ensure that programs are safe, engaging, meaningful and challenging. We design programs that incorporate our core values, and themes from the participants' daily lives and agency defined therapeutic goals and aspirations for their groups. This includes (but is not limited to): leadership development, character building, positive peer, family, and/or staff relationships, group cohesion, and coping strategies.+ Staff +Lise Brown, BRS, MIRSWMomenta Facilitator and OwnerLise completed her Bachelor of Recreation in 2001, and her Masters of Social Work in 2007. She studied community development, wilderness therapy, program evaluation, and co-occurring disorders. Lise completed a Certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy in 2012. Lise uses these skills to facilitate groups and counsel individuals both in urban and wilderness environments with a focus on physical and emotional safety, successful participation, fun, meaningful activity and group cohesion.
