Water hazards and neighbouring wetland areas are commonplace and come into play on five different occasions. The signature hole at South Port is the 361 yard, par 4, 6th hole. Off the tee, one must decide to carry the water hazard 200 yards away or lay up in front before approaching the small and gently sloping green. Out of bounds along the left side of the fairway and mature bush to the right convince most golfers that laying up makes the most sense.
