The dozen members were unable to raise the funds necessary for expansion, and as it was privately owned, government grants were not made available. So, in 1969, the Legion Hall was sold to the Hazelridge community for the princely sum of $1.00. That same year, with grants and hard work, community volunteers erected the 42'x80' addition to the newly named Hazelridge Hall.
