The Slocan Valley Seniors Housing Society was formed in 1995 and incorporated in 1997 to develop affordable seniors housing and related services. With tremendous support from the community and a committed group of volunteers the Society built and since 1999 has maintained the very successful 10 unit Passmore Lodge in Passmore, B.C. Community Groups use the Lodge for literacy art and intergenerational programs and for seniors fitness classes. It has maintained charitable status with Revenue Canada since incorporation. Our Vision A supportive community with enhanced opportunities to enable seniors inclusive of ethnic origins, abilities and disabilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, race or religion to remain an integral part of community life. Our Mission To enable seniors to maintain residency in the Slocan Valley by providing affordable housing and support services.

Bannock Point Development and EnhancementFrom 2009 to 2012, during our first four years of operation, we focussed on local job creation, a safer community, and stewardship of our landbase. Over $1,800,000 was brought into the Community of the Slocan Valley and many jobs were created. In 2013 we are focusing on continuing our investment in wildland-urban interface work with a $400,000 investment grant going toward 47 Hectares of Land between the Village of Silverton and the Red Mountain Resident area. We will also begin working with the Village of Slocan on making the village safer focusing on Interface work on the East side of the village. Staff DirectoryHomeArrow & Slocan Lakes Community Services was incorporated as a provincial non-profit society in 1974 and as a federally Registered Charitable Organization in 1983.The Society was originally formed to deliver homemaker services to the Nakusp area, and since then has grown to become a multi-program agency encompassing Arrow, Slocan and Trout Lakes region from Edgewood to Nakusp to Silverton. About 6,000 people live and work in the area, and our services impact a wide range of the local population, from children to seniors.
