To encourage business development, the city offers economic and other incentives to new or expanding businesses. Similar incentives are available to encourage residents to improve their homes. This has created high quality, yet affordable, housing for Bancroft residents. The city offers a plethora of services including public water, sewer and electricity as well as weekly garbage collection. The city maintains police and ambulance services and the township fire department is located within the city limits.Recreation opportunities abound for Bancroft residents including city maintained parks, tennis courts, basketball court, volleyball court, a softball diamond and the famed and historic Bancroft Memorial Ballpark.
