Grand Forks Public Library so we assembled a report about our library's special place in this community, its services, the valuable work the volunteers undertook and the overall community involvement.
Back in 1897, Greenwood was a bustling mining community: a city of over 3,000 people, withhotels, general store, brewery, even an opera house. Over the next few years, Greenwood becamethe government center for the Boundary region, and by 1905, had over 100 firms in its businessdistrict. Yet, even with its booming population and economy, there was no library.
