The Adult Learning Centres are community based and student centered. Students access the Adult Learning Centres for a variety of reasons. Some students may have a goal that is directly related to finding and keeping employment.
East York Learning Experience is a non-profit adult literacy program serving East York, parts of east Toronto, and west Scarborough. EYLE has spent 26 years building our organization with the objective of reducing the social and economic barriers of adult literacy students. Our students are highly motivated and demonstrate a real commitment to their learning. EYLE recruits and trains community volunteers who work on a one-to-one basis with adult students to develop their reading, writing, math, and basic computer skills.
At the Literacy Centre, we provide reading assessment and remedial tutoring services to children between the ages of 4 to 17. Research has proven that potential reading difficulties need to be identified and addressed early, and the proper assessment of your child's strengths and challenges, paired with specialized therapy plans, help develop proficient, confident learners. Our qualified staff of registered psychologists and certified teachers in the province of Ontario can identify your child’s unique learning profile and develop a treatment plan to further develop his or her existing skills. Our centre is conveniently located in the Beamsville core, providing services to Niagara in the areas of Grimsby, Beamsville, Smithville, Vineland, and Stoney Creek.
Could your child's grades use a boost? Brilliant Boost Tutoring offers in-home private tutor sessions for elementary, high school and college students in Sarnia and surrounding areas. Our FREE Ministry-funded adult program helps adults 18+ improve their reading, writing, math, basic computer, and digital skills needed to successfully reach goals including: employment,, secondary credits, post-secondary and pre-apprenticeship entrance, and greater independence. We offer personalized, private, one-to-one tutoring for adults.
Our FREE Train Your Brain program helps grade three and four students improve their math & reading skills through play-based activities.
Various other mission-related initiatives serve to champion literacy and increase literacy levels in Lambton County.
