Our storefront is reminiscent of the old west with large wooden beams holding up the front overhang and a rustic wood engraved sign. Corlane Sporting Goods Ltd. new location as of July 2007 is just northwest of the traffic circle in Dawson Creek, BC where the Alaska Highway intersects with Highways 2 and 49. You can take pictures of the world famous Mile 0 Post just three blocks away. See real grizzly bear paw castings in the concrete posts on both sides of the entrance. The front door handles are made of elk antler that feels solid and warm even on the coldest day. Just inside the building there is a customer photo brag wall and beyond that your jaw drops to the floor as you enter a sportsman's dream. This is truly a must see destination for tourists and sportsmen. Above your head the collection of big horn sheep includes a life size ram on a rock. To your right a long row of firearms and ammunition sets the stage for the caribou, elk, moose, mule deer, whitetails and cougar that line the north wall. In the reloading corner you'll find a black bear rug, antelope, and yet another life size ram. There is a polar bear above the archery section and a great display of local and exotic varieties of fish above the fishing section. Behind the main till is an assortment of outdoor themed giftware and look up for a flock of birds on the east wall. As you walk amongst the game heads, the photos and the people in the aisles you can hear the faint sound of a milling machine coming from the gunshop. That my friends is the sound of experience. We live what we build and we build what we have lived. There is no pretense in our craft or our business. We are a result of nothing more than two or three generations of experience on the last frontier in the northern world and as a result we stand behind every rifle we build. Corlanes and its product, Rocky Mountain Rifles, have been in the small northern British Columbia community of Dawson Creek for over forty years.
They have a wonderful selection for a small town. Prices for some things are a little high but their gunsmithing is second to none! I have had 3 guns repaired by Greg and every one was a reasonable price and done while I waited.Read more
