Located in the historic village of Maitland, the Inn was built circa 1830 and established 20 years ago as one of the original B&B's in the area. It sits at the heart of Nova Scotia's first Heritage Conservation District and just 5 minutes from the historic Maitland docks - a major centre of 'Great Ship' building in North America during the 19th century. Exploring the area today is to wander among the pristine beaches, forest trails and spectacular sea cliffs of the Glooscap Trail. It is experiencing the power of the Bay of Fundy by rafting the world's highest Tidal Bore. It is spotting bald eagles and ospreys soaring above the Shubenacadie River while walking along the Acadian dykes. It is visiting Maitland's monuments, heritage homes, antique & artisan shops and its unique general store. It is finally coming back to relax in the easy comfort of the Foley House Inn.
