Mario Cianflone pursued his interest to be an entrepreneur in an expanding tile industry. He started Mario's Tile as a small family run business. During the initial years of the company the majority of contracted jobs were residential. The company was subcontracted by most of the home building contractors in the city of Winnipeg. With the success of the residential market, Mario's Tile started bidding commercially on a large scale. By 1984 the commercial division was initiated. Recently, the business has undergone some changes. Mario Cianflone has passed the company down, and has ensured that his family business maintain the same standards and ethics.During 2006, Greg Hanna joined the corporation as the chief estimator. Both residential and commercial sales continued to grow and the need for a retail location was realised. The Mario's Tile & Stone store, situated on Portage Avenue, was opened in 2008. The store offers a vast display of tiles from a variety of suppliers and vast product expertise by Destinee Blatz.
