This is a quaint museum hidden in the Ottawa valley and is quite supprising once you get inside. With outbuildings and property it's a wonderful spot to bring your kids and make a day of it. The exhibits inside are well done and have so much information and interesting displays it's wonderful.
During the summer they have kids days events that my children loved going to and we'll certainly be returning this summer!

The Museum was founded as the Haliburton Highlands Pioneer Museum in 1967, as a Canadian Centennial project to commemorate the early pioneers of the area. The Rotary Club and a committee of interested citizens were behind it, including Ron Curry of Curry Motors fame & founder of the Rotary Club of Haliburton. Prominent as well were Haliburton school teachers Margaret Sisson & Clara 'Kell' Andison.
