The NORTHERN LIFE MUSEUM & CULTURAL CENTRE is legally registered under the NORTHERN ANTHROPOLOGICAL & CULTURAL SOCIETY which is a Non-for-profit organization funded through various agency of the Territorial, federal and municipal government.

Valemount, British Columbia History and Historic Railway StationAbout Us Valemount Museum, located in the Valemount Historic Railway Station, British Columbia has something for every member of the family.The museum has three levels in the main building with displays on rail camps and towns, a model railway, Japanese Internment Camp display, Valemount Pioneers and war hero's, Margaret McKirdy sculptures, James Vanslyk Art, a Pioneer Kitchen, Early Settlers stories and items, Outfitting and Trapper's Cabin display. We also have a restored CN Caboose as well as logging and farming artifacts located in the museum annex.We have a gift shop with locally published books and pamphlets as well as CN items.The Valemount Museum is a designated Heritage Railway Station/building

We offer an engaging, interactive record of Jasper’s fascinating history. Exhibits include the history of the Indigenous & Metis people of the Athabasca Valley; the fur trade-including David Thompson, one of Canada’s foremost explorers; the railway; early mountaineering- including the legend of the Silver Ice Axe & the development of tourism in JNP. Exhibits in our Showcase Gallery are changed regularly & this year we are featuring “Rocky Mountain Wild", featuring Wildlife Artwork from the Jasper area by artist Tammy Taylor, an exhibition on "Vanishing Glaciers" followed by an Art Exhibition called "Rocks Stars! An exhibition through time and space" by artist Sylvie Pinard. Help us continue to tell “Our Jasper Stories” with a donation or a membership.

The George Johnston Museum is a honey-coloured, native log building located at Mile 804 on the Alaska Highway, in Teslin ? two kilometres north of the Nisutlin Bay Bridge and identified by road signs, an array of red and blue roadside banners and a signature Wolf Head in the Tlingit art style sign. This painting identifies the moiety of George Johnston, after whom the museum is named.Inside, 3,000 square feet of galleries are devoted to colourful exhibits, dioramas and artefacts honouring the lives of George Johnston, the Inland Tlingit and other Teslin Lake residents.The museum has a small theatre, featuring films by and about the Tlingit people, a gift shop with unusual products that reflect local life, outdoor exhibits and summer programs. Staff offer insights on local history and exhibits. Horsefly was the site of the first gold panned in the Cariboo in 1859 predating the Barkerville gold strike of 1862.Miners who stayed on after the rush northward towards Quesnel and Barkerville first settled the area. The new homesteaders mined small claims, trapped, ranched or logged.Today the village of Horsefly has a population of approximately 800 people. It is situated in the Cariboo Region of British Columbia, Canada and is a pleasant half hour drive from 150 Mile House. This is truly a beautiful region with many mountains, lakes, rivers, and streams. The Westlock Pioneer Museum contains thousands of objects, many of them donated by the descendants of early settlers in the Westlock area, including such smaller surrounding communities as Clyde, Dapp, Linaria, Busby, Pickardville, Pibroch, Jarvie and Flatbush. The museum is run by the Westlock and District Historical Society, which was created in 1962 with the mission of preserving the history of the area and passing it on to future generations. The historical society began collecting artifacts that told the story of the town and the people who helped to develop it. Now the museum contains everything from early pioneer farm equipment and vehicles to wedding dresses and kitchen utensils, all evocative of the lives of the pioneers who built a community in the area.
