Lakefield Co-operative Nursery School (LCNS) was founded in 1973 by a group of parents who were interested in providing an enriching preschool experience for their children. As a co-operative, the School relies on the participation of parents to supervise the children, raise funds, and to contribute their talents in other ways, for example, serving on the board of directors.

Chelsea Heights Community Centre is a welcoming place with something for everyone, especially YOU!Our Centre offers a comfortable and spacious building, providing flexibility allowing us to match classes to suitable spaces. Our large hall with floorboards is ideal for active playgroup sessions and dance classes. Our private and carpeted childcare room is excellent for Yoga or counselling groups and the Wetlands Room is a favourite with Art & Craft and other activities.We also have a colourful and secure playground which complements our Centre.

Sustainability Initiative Renewable Energy Approval Reports Whitesand First Nation is proposing to build new biomass facilities as part of the Community Sustainability Initiative. Facilities include a biomass fueled electric power and heat cogeneration plant and a wood pellet plant of which the issuance of a renewable energy approval is required.
