The staff then work with the individual to support them and also assists employers to ensure the partnership is successful. This program has been very successful and we have individuals employed in restaurants, hotels, retail outlets and many other areas of the work force.

Although we are based in Winnipeg, we have members throughout Manitoba.Our organization was originally formed in response to the heightened threat to Winnipeg's extraordinary American elm population by Dutch elm disease. Over time, new threats have placed our urban forest at risk. The Foundation was formed to assist the member entities of Synod to manage, conserve, and be responsible for all legacies, bequests, endowments, foundations, annuity gifts, and all other trust funds of Synod. This service extends to all congregations, auxiliaries and service organizations that support the mission and ministry of Lutheran Church Canada.In the early part of this decade, it was decided to merge the District foundations into the Synodical foundation, thereby providing a single point of reference for foundation activity within LCC, improved service to individual members, and significant savings in management due to economies of scale. The Foundation's Board of Directors consists of two appointees from each District, three appointees by the Synod, and two advisory members - the President and Treasurer of Synod.In summary, the Foundation exists to support the various organizations of LCC, by soliciting major gifts for these organizations, primarily as part of an individual's Christian estate plan
