The Cranbrook Hospice Society Is Introducing A Walk & Talk Service. Participants Will Meet Saturday Mornings For 6 Weeks In The Spring. Trained Volunteers Will Set Up The Program And Join You On The Walk.These Walks Will Happen Rain Or Shine And Will Consist Of An Enjoyable Walk And A Stop Off For Refreshments.This Is An Oportunity For Those Who Are Grieving To Meet Others Who Have Had Similar Experiences And Share A Bond Of Loss. Often With The Passage Of Time Friends And Family Return To Their Every Day Lives And The Message To 'Get On With Life' Or 'You Should Be Over It By Now' And All The Judgement That Entails Leaves You Thinking There Is Something Wrong With You.

In 1925, an appeal for unity led to the formation of the Dominion Veterans Alliance. The Legion was founded in November of that year in Winnipeg, Manitoba as The Canadian Legion of the British Empire Services League (BESL). It was incorporated by special Act of Parliament, Charter issued in July 1926.
