AFC, in partnership with local churches, is committed to establish, continue and propagate this mission among ethnic Chinese students in Canadian educational institutions. While AFC believes in the autonomy of student groups, we will provide leadership, guidance and training, promote and develop students in areas of evangelism, discipleship, leadership and world mission in order to prepare them to serve effectively in local churches, communities and the world.
Mission Statement To provide emergency food items to Markham residents in need. The Food Bank was founded in 1984. Jean Lee was concerned about people going hungry in the town. The founding directors were Sheila Spinks and Phylis Tyrie. Gladys Keeble joined a few months later.
Inspired by the example and teaching of Jesus, we recognize that people have deeply interconnected material and spiritual needs, and we seek to meet those needs by working through our local Christian networks- primarily through churches and faith based organizations who are at the heart of their communities.
