The theme, The Mystery of Migration, explored many different aspects of migration including the migration of waterfowl and songbirds and the seasonal movement of ungulates, carnivores, butterflies, bats, fish and even humans. A full week of more than 90 field trips, presentations and workshops culminated with a Gala banquet and an exciting and enthusiastic presentation by Brian Keating, world-renowned naturalist who has explored nearly 50 countries on all seven continents. Brian Keating spent three full days at the Festival giving school presentations and leading field trips, communicating and teaching about the world's astonishing and fragile biodiversity.A recent exceptional find of a fossil bed of significant importance in the Kootenay National Park has inspired our theme for the festival in 2015, Fossils and Feathers.

Perched high above the Bow Valley in Banff National Park, Rimrock Banff, Emblems Collection will debut in summer 2026 following a transformative property-wide reimagination. As the first Emblems Collection hotel in North America, it introduces Accor’s ultra-luxury brand, defined by character-rich properties that reflect the soul of their destination. Sweeping mountain views, immersive access to UNESCO-protected wilderness, and four distinctive dining experiences shape an intimate mountain retreat.
Attending a business conference at the Rimrock, this was my first visit to the hotel but not my first stay in Banff. The location is superb - very close to the gondola and hot springs, and the most amazing views of the area. Loved the hotel itself, it is elegant and luxurious. The rooms are heavenly, they are even stocked (or were at the time) with Aveda bath and hair products. I await my next trip to Rimrock!Read more

Although united in a common cause, no two legion branches are identically the same. Each has a special characteristic that makes it uniquely different from other branches. One such branch may be found in Banff, the Col. Moore Branch #26. This branch is unique in that being in a famous tourist resort it plays host to thousands of visitors each year. Over the years many dignitaries have visited the club including Dominion Presidents.
