This is the only place to go in Vancouver area for real Fish and Chips. Chips are golden brown and crispy! Halibut is like a chicken breast; covered in homemade batter that is nicely done.
I find their Malt Vinegar to be a great flavour; some other Fish and Chips outlets serve a cider vinegar which in my estimation just does not 'cut it':.

The Shady Island Seafood Bar & Grill is absolutely amazing! It is a must goto place for amazing fresh seafood! Try their hot seafood CEASER salad and chowder! Wow! The very best meal I’ve had in years! All their food is amazing but my personal favourite is the seafood!

So a bunch of us finally headed down to the Blue Canoe for dinner. A few had been there before, and a few hadn't, but we always go and critique places together. Absolutely loved the atmosphere, not a detail was spared in the design of the restaurant.
The real tester is of course the food, and it did not disappoint. They've thrown together some amazing flavours and clearly taken some chances that have worked out in their favour. The Drummettes....I don't eat chicken wings anywhere, but these ones were in a soy sauce of some sort that was fantastic!! The BBQ Salmon was probably the best salmon that I've ever had at a restaurant....not overcooked like most places. So much flavour. That was it for me, but others had a wide variety of food and rave reviews on all counts. A few questions on the sides that they came with, but generous portions and smiles all around. Home cooked food, terrific coffee, lattes etc. Omelettes, sandwiches, cake and muffins.....very good value, not expensive! Always come back here when we’re in town. The staff are friendly and personable.....location is central and easy to find!

I don't think you can go wrong with that place. I went there for my birthday, best service I had and how great to enjoy the melody of the piano in the background. The filet mignon was great and I can't wait to try the oysters and hopefully I get lucky enought to sit on the roof top patio during summer!

My wife and I have enjoyed dining in on only a few occasions; but we have found the food to be delicious, and the service to be exceptional. The take out / pick-up service is most convenient when you're short for time, but have dinner and a movie planned at home. With a little bit of warm-up, plug the movie in, you have a savoury romantic dinner with your significant other and the only consideration is who does the dishes !
