The University of Manitoba Welcome to the University of Manitoba - western Canada's first university. In April 1910 the Victoria Beach Investment Company was founded with C. W. N. Kennedy as president and C. Vokes, F.C. N. Kennedy, W. E. Macara and T.D. Robinson as directors. The aims of the company were 'to layout, improve, sell and dispose of its lands for the purposes mainly of a summer resort' and also to enter into any type of business which they thought plausible.

The Library is named after Miss. Pauline Johnson. She was a school teacher who taught in Lundar for many years. She was born in 1895 and immigrated to Lundar from Iceland in 1900. She retired in 1961 after spending her entire working career as a teacher.In 1995, a former student of hers, Don Johnson, made a large monetary donation to start a library in her honor.

Seven Community Members and one Council Rep with an Alternative oversee the functioning of our library.All citizens in the RM of Eriksdale are entitled to a membership in the Eriksdale Public Library at no cost.Non residents pay a yearly fee for membership to access all services offered.
