This was our first visit (certainly not the last). I'm not sure what we expected but it was not the ambiance/service/good food that we received. Nice building, well laid out. Not too crowded. A bit noisy when full to capacity but pleasant noise. The food was excellent, the waiter not leaving until we had cut into the steak to ensure it was cooked to our liking. Prices could compete with the low end steak houses in the US. Certainly a nice change from normal Winnipeg prices. Wait staff *****

Over the years, Wally and his brother Monty opened other Pancake Houses around the city, and 50+ years later, the Pembina Pancake House is still thriving (arrive early on Sundays to avoid the lines).
