Located in the rolling foothills of the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 4400' (1350 m), the M and M Ranch lies 13 km south of the picturesque hamlet of Bragg Creek and roughly 60 kilometers southwest of Calgary. The ranch occupies 340 acres of forest and pasture. To the south and west lies Kananaskis Country, stretching to the Continental Divide and the border with British Columbia. This is one of the prettiest areas for riding in the world. On the Eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies, Alberta has a tradition of ranching that started in the late-1800's and continues today. Riding westward from the ranch toward the Continental Divide, landscape changes from one of rolling ridges and open forests to one of high alpine meadows, thick primal forests, and shear limestone cliffs. The highest peaks in the region are around 11,000 feet with permanent snowfields and glaciers on their shoulders. This variety of ecosystems makes each day?s ride different and beautiful in its own unique way.
Established in 1999 by Nan Harrison, ShadowBrook Equine is a place to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy your horse. English, western, competitive trail and dressage riding is available, as well as lessons, boarding and rehab/hospice care. Teesdale Stables was established in 1986 by Christine and Brett Waldroff and Christine's parents Pat and Arthur Harker. Teesdale is located 5 km west of Spruce Meadows on Highway 22X, 5 minutes south of Calgary. Sitting on 65 acres with a beautiful view of the foothills and Rocky Mountains, Teesdale is a hunter/jumper facility that offers year round indoor boarding. We also provides school horse lessons and owns 12 school horses and ponies of different sizes for various riding levels. Teesdale is committed to being part of our local community, and we host 5 indoor shows each year, 2 for hunter/jumpers and 3 for novice riders.
