Literally translated in Spanish, 'Hermanos' means 'Brothers'. However, the term is also commonly used when one South American country refers tongue & cheek to another, as in a recent interview with the Brazilian national soccer team where they referred to their Argentinean rivals as 'Hermanos'.At Hermanos Restaurant and Wine Bar, we're about showcasing some of the food, imagery, and styles found in South American dining, with our main courses inspired by the many Parillada's or Steakhouses in Argentina & Uruguay. In addition to flavours from northern Brazil & Peru, our wine list is sourced exclusively from the vineyards of Chile & Argentina, not to leave out our signature cocktails: the Brazilian 'Caipirinhia' and Chilean 'Pisco Sour'.
Another gem in the Exchange. Love the casual, sleek atmosphere, and the Staff are knowledgable, efficient and very pleasant. Great beef, and a very flavourful menu in general. Established in 1931, in the time of the Great Depression, a Minister of the United Church started a second-hand store from the remainders of a rummage sale. His goals were a) to offer employment to those who could not find employment due to the Great Depression and b) to offer Manitoban citizens, items which they needed at a low-price.
Since 1931, Canadian Goodwill has been incorporated and is now identified as a non-profit charitable organization.
The objectives of Canadian Goodwill are to provide vocational services, rehabilitation services, and employment for persons with physical, developmental, emotional or social disabilities, whose disability are obstacles to their employment in the open market.
By collecting, refurbishing and selling used articles, Canadian Goodwill help provide these Manitoban individuals with an income, independence and self esteem. Come see us today!
Hi and Welcome to Our Little Bakery! At cake-ology we make cakes, all kinds of cakes! We also make cupcakes, cakettes and all kinds of other nibbly goodies. If you can't find the information you are looking for below, please don't hesitate to contact us at 612-9866 and we can help guide you to finding or creating something delicious.Cakes! We can do all kinds of cakes. Simple cakes, fun cakes, cakes that look like dogs, wedding cakes, and everything in between. All of our cakes are custom, which means we don't have any in the shop to pick up on a whim, they all need to be ordered ahead of time. We usually book about 2-3 weeks ahead, but please call to see if we can squeeze you in.Each cake is made up of two layers of cake with butter cream icing (layered in between and then crumb coated). We finish our cakes off with fondant icing, and as they are our specialty, we don't charge any extra for using that kind of icing. Fondant is a type of icing used to finish off cakes (there is still butter cream inside the cakes) and it is similar in taste and texture to marsh mellows.
Recently ordered a custom birthday cake on short notice (less than a week). Ive contacted a bunch of bakeries around town and they would only take the order with a ridiculous surcharge. After I explained my circumstance, Cakeology actually came up with a solution for me so that I can still have my custom cake in time. They were very accommodating and helped me make this cake happen. On top of their excellent service, the cake tasted amazing. Definitely one-of-a-kind. Highly recommended! Read more
Champions and MotivatorsWhat is in motion? In motion is a provincial strategy to help all Manitobans make physical activity part of their daily lives for health and enjoyment. Our vision is to make adult Manitobans healthier by increasing physical activity in the province to 55% by the year 2015.Most of us already know the importance of active living. Physical activity increases energy, reduces stress and strengthens the heart and lungs. The result is a better quality of life for every age group. Yet less than half of all Manitobans of all ages do enough physical activity to improve their health. What's needed is the motivation to get ourselves and each other 'in motion'. The provincial government has joined with community partners in physical activity, health, healthy living, recreation, sport and education to raise activity levels and reduce barriers to physical activity. In motion has four key components.building partnerships developing strategies for target areasmeasuring successIn motion strategies will focus on five specific groups
