Welcome to Pilot Bay Resort on Kootenay Lake, in the southeast corner of British Columbia, Canada. Kootenay Lake is BC's third largest natural lake and was used as the main transportation link by early prospectors and settlers who laid the foundations for the first mines and towns in the Kootenay area. Pilot Bay was one of several such communities. The town vanished around 1902; today only scattered bricks, cellar foundations and two brick stacks remain. However, the scenic lake is still the chosen route for modern travelers. Walk-on and drive-on commuters cross the lake daily on the longest free ferry ride in North America. The East Shore terminal, at Kootenay Bay, is within walking distance of Pilot Bay Resort.
This park provides ample space for new RV's with multiple slide-outs and awnings, too large for older parks. Treated water and sewer connections are provided, as well as 50 amp power to all stalls. This is a rare commodity among local parks.
We Also Have Conference Hall And Special Event Venue Available That Can Be Rented For Business, Reunions Or Other Events. Tent Sites Are Also Open For Rentals.
We had a magical experience. The enchanting glow of the miniature Christmas lights warmly lit our hearts. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We camped for one night in a lovely space next to the washrooms (which had great showers.) Next to our tent was a cabin adorned with Christmas lights. The site was clean and noise was no factor. We were able to rest our little heads for as long as we wished to dream. We will be glad to return to this campsite.Read more
