A small group began meeting in Marble School and then built the church on Hagadorn Road, which was then the far edge of the Lansing/East Lansing area. Throughout its history Edgewood has focused on social justice and working for change in the community and in the world. Over the years Edgewood folks have been involved in building low income housing, advocating for health care reform, supporting the civil rights movement, pushing for open housing in East Lansing, advocating for gay, lesbian and transgender civil rights, and much more.
