Nitehawk Recreation Area, a jewel in the peace country is about to get even better. Hard to believe Nitehawk Recreation Area is run as a non-profit. Nitehawk Recreation Area has been in existence since 1960 and run by a board of directors, a dedicated team of volunteers and a hard working crew of staff. Through the course of the winter we expect upwards of 40,000 visits to our ski hill. We think it's one of the best opportunities for young people in particular to enjoy fresh air, exercise and good clean fun in a controlled environment. That's why so many families and businesses are keen to support our Nitehawk Ski Hill. Over the years Nitehawk has grown from a quaint ski hill to a multipurpose recreational area and facility. It employs 8 full time and 60 part time seasonal staff throughout the year, and provides recreation, exercise and fun for thousands of people year round. The chalet provides a wonderful facility for weddings and conventions.
At Williston Lake Resort, we believe that every day is precious. Whether you crave backcountry adventure or seek family memories that will last a lifetime, allow us to help you make the most of your holiday. Williston Lake Resort is situated in the foothills of the Northern Rocky Mountains, on the shores of the largest reservoir in Canada. The reservoir was formed forty years ago, with the construction of BC Hydro's W.A.C. Bennett Dam. Tours of the dam and adjacent underground powerhouse are available daily during the summer. Our region is the Canada richest in game and wildlife. The untouched nature around the lodge offers living space for white head eagle and osprey, beaver, Wapiti elk, white tail deer, mule deer, coyotes, wolves, moose, black, brown and grizzly bear. Directly in front of our lodge mule deer, whitetail deer, Wapiti elk and moose quite often graze peacefully. You will experience amazing moments, full of peace. Life is long, if you live every day to the fullest.
The plan was to build the RV Park and have it as a fundraiser for the FSJ Rotary Club to complete local and international projects. We now have 69 sites, a building to house washrooms and laundry facilities, and a new office building. Funds raised by the park will be used to complete various local and international Rotary projects.
