A custodial engineer at Bison Transport in Winnipeg, Johnson works in the shops department, which ensures the safe operating condition of the Bison fleet of 1100 trucks, 4000 trailers and other equipment. On any given day, Johnson may spend his day driving through the city, picking up parts for trucks in the shops, or even picking up their drivers. Johnson may spend his shift cleaning and organizing sections of the shops; as a qualified forklift operator, he might spend most of his time managing the forklift. He has received the company's 'charging ahead' award for his exceptional service.

Arcane Horizon Inc is a not for profit organization incorporated on July 19,1995 to support two men to live in their own home in the community. The agency was formed when the parents of these two men determined they could develop a more suitable support model for their sons. These parents with the assistance of Family Services, Association for Community Living and Prairie Places Inc. founded the agency.The agency is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors predominantly comprised of family members of individuals we support. The agency was founded on the Gentle Teaching Philosophy - this means that our first task is to build a bridge of companionship between those whom we serve and their support network. Villa Rosa is a prenatal and postnatal residence offering a wide variety of programs in a safe and nurturing environment. Any single, pregnant woman or new mother may access our services.There is no cost to any resident of Manitoba not living in a First Nation community - block funding through the Province of Manitoba and the United Way allows Villa Rosa to provide all services free of charge to young women who are pregnant and need a safe and healthy place to stay. However, Villa Rosa is not financially responsible for transportation, spending money, clothing needs, personal needs or medication. Women living on their First nation may be eligible to receive service on a per diem basis.Villa Rosa's mission is to provide educational, health and social services to young single women and their families during and after pregnancy, in the Province of Manitoba. Programs are offered in a safe, nurturing environment that encourages personal growth, and carried out in a fiscally responsible, culturally competent manner
