A custodial engineer at Bison Transport in Winnipeg, Johnson works in the shops department, which ensures the safe operating condition of the Bison fleet of 1100 trucks, 4000 trailers and other equipment. On any given day, Johnson may spend his day driving through the city, picking up parts for trucks in the shops, or even picking up their drivers. Johnson may spend his shift cleaning and organizing sections of the shops; as a qualified forklift operator, he might spend most of his time managing the forklift. He has received the company's 'charging ahead' award for his exceptional service.

Pulford Community Living Services Inc., a not-for-profit community based organization, was established in November 1986 in response to the closing of a guest home that threatened to leave several people homeless. On December 1, 1986, three people moved from the guest home into their own home on Fleet Avenue, assisted by Pulford. Since 1986, Pulford has continuously provided housing and supports to persons with a developmental disability. The supports provided by P.C.L.S. Inc. and its employees are intended to encourage and facilitate, to the greatest possible extent, the individual's ability to live and grow in ways that the individual sees fit.

Arcane Horizon Inc is a not for profit organization incorporated on July 19,1995 to support two men to live in their own home in the community. The agency was formed when the parents of these two men determined they could develop a more suitable support model for their sons. These parents with the assistance of Family Services, Association for Community Living and Prairie Places Inc. founded the agency.The agency is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors predominantly comprised of family members of individuals we support. The agency was founded on the Gentle Teaching Philosophy - this means that our first task is to build a bridge of companionship between those whom we serve and their support network.
