Last year, Festival Antigonish celebrated its twenty-sixth season. Each summer, around 10,000 patrons from around Nova Scotia and beyond enjoy acclaimed theatre for all ages. The Decoste Centre Had Its Official Opening In November 1982 With A Performance By Rita Macneil. Since Then The Decoste Has Presented Over 2000 Concerts Featuring Singers, Musicians, Actors And Dancers From Around The World.

The Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library is one of nine regional public libraries across Nova Scotia. The regional library system was created through provincial legislation, the Public Libraries Act. Each regional library is governed by an independent library board. Funding is provided by the Province of Nova Scotia, through the Provincial Library (Communities, Culture & Heritage Department) and by each municipal unit in the Antigonish – Pictou area.
