His father had one of the first rubber tired tractors in the area and Morris who never had a love for horses certainly had a love for that new tractor. Morris began doing custom work for other farmers in the area and when he caught sight of a county of Simcoe dozer working on a nearby road he dreamt of owning a dozer himself. He headed to Toronto in search of dozer, but equipment was hard to come by and it took a few years for him to receive his 1946 6 ton.
