Cititone was started in 2004 with a primary focus of providing wholesale long distance routes to international providers. Throughout the initial years we experienced great success providing routes to our international partners but we eventually found that the commercial equipment we relied on to switch traffic was not sufficient to handle the volume of traffic we were handling. Due to those limitations, our founders decided to embark on building our own wholesale switching platform that could more reliably handle huge volumes of telephone calls so in 2006 we started develop a high performance, fully redundant SIP and H233 compatible switching platform.
