We are ready to improve the Lord's property at Holy Trinity Cathedral - at our AGM this year we had approved a Capital expenditure project: the repaving of our parking lot, something that regular users of the parking lot all can agree. We need to do this so that we can provide a safer environment for all that visit here. We need to raise approximately $100,000 for this project.

Taras Shevchenko: 200th Celebration Through ArtIn 2014, as recognition and celebration of 200 years since Shevchenko's birth, MPUE engaged 5 Artists to lead an art project that would span all grade levels throughout the 12 English Ukrainian Bilingual Program (EUBP) schools in Manitoba. Students worked under the guidance of the commissioned artists to collaborate and create a child's interpretation of Taras Shevchenko's significant contributions to Ukrainian cultural identity. The children were asked to base their images on the 3 different themes: Kindergarten to Grade 2/3 - Taras Shevchenko's Birthplace Grade 3 to 5/6 - An Illustration Based on Taras Shevchenko's Writings Grade 6 to 8/9 - What Taras Shevchenko Stood ForThe artist worked with the individual schools, students and teachers and expressed the work in the fabric based medium of their choice. Chesed Shel Emes was established in 1930 as a non-profit organization with a mandate to prepare members of the Jewish community for burial according to Orthodox tradition.Each person is treated with the same consideration and respect. RED RIVER HERITAGE FAIR Congratulations to the Grade 6 students who represented our school so well at the Red River Heritage Fair at the University of Winnipeg on May 1st. The students had a wonderful time observing the hundreds of amazing projects by grade 4 to 11 students from across Manitob,a participating in several hands-on workshops, interacting with the judges and answering their questions, and meeting students from across the province.Each year the grade 6 students participate in various fun and educational workshops. This year's workshops included: soap stone carving; making aboriginal leather necklaces called spirit pouches; an amazing scavenger hunt; and an interesting talk on The Untold Stories of Winnipeg. As well there was aboriginal drumming during the lunch hour and an Open House and Awards Ceremony in the evening. It was an action-packed day, one that will remain fondly in our memories! All of our students received medals for their wonderful projects.In addition, some of our students were fortunate to receive SPECIALTY AWARDS, as follows: CANADA'S HISTORY AWARD (Awarded to the Top 3 Projects in the entire fair!)

Jomar is an architect, designer, builder, 3D modeller, graphic artist, web developer and an entrepreneur. He studied B.S. in Architecture at Mapua Institute of Technology, Intramuros, Manila in 1994 and started his career as a working student. Beginning in 1995, his work experiences includes 5 years in scale model building, 6 years as manual draftsman, 3 years assistant teacher in an international school, more than 15 years in CAD drafting, about 13 years in 3D image rendering, practiced 7 years of professional architecture and construction project management in the Philippines, and 7 years in graphic arts, web development and business management. Most of these experiences were done simultaneously.
