The humble premises of Pizza Pide belie the gastronomic pleasures that spill out of its kitchen. The usual flat-pie suspects get recast as Turkish pides at this Leslieville fave, where prices are reasonable and the signature dishes are big enough to satisfy two. These oblong vehicles of done-to-perfection, butter-and-egg-washed crust play golden host to a raft of fresh, inventive ingredients, from feta cheese and lamb to cured sausage and chicken strips. There's no tomato sauce base on a Turkish pizza, but onions, hot peppers, tomatoes and parsley are served on the side. The whole enterprise at Pizza Pide is a gloriously no-frills affair.
