MacCoubrey Funeral Home has been working hand in hand with Cobourg Union Cemetery to develop a green option for the environmentally concerned members of the public. The green package offered by the funeral home includes environmental stationery, environmental embalming, environmental caskets and reduced vehicle usage. In conjunction with this the cemetery is opening a green section for environmental burials, those being immediate burials or environmentally embalmed burials using environmental containers or caskets. No standard embalmings or cremations will be allowed in this section of the cemetery. This portion of the cemetery will be left in a natural setting with limited grounds keeping. Central field stone markers are planned to be used rather than individual markers. Tree planting and natural vegetation will be encouraged.

Yoga has been part of my life since I was a teenager. That translates into almost 30 years of experience. Teaching yoga has been an important part of my life for the last 10 years. It is such an honour to share yoga with such amazing people. After having lived abroad for half my life, moving back to Cobourg became an easy transition through my yoga world, prior to that I felt out of place. I have studied and practiced yoga in many countries around the world, including UAE, India, Sri Lanka, Costa Rica, Peru, Thailand, Australia, Turkey & of course Canada. From each teacher I have picked up little points along the way and developed my own teaching style. I find this the most beautiful aspect of instructing and taking classes. The uniqueness of each person makes every yoga experience meaningful. The yoga world has so much to offer practitioners but also instructors; it is a never ending process of experience and education.

It was here he started working on equipment to do the topsoil spreading and grading. Two years later he began working with a lawn maintenance company in London where he stayed for 5 years, learning the trade and becoming the foreman of two large crews and oversaw the maintenance of the London Airport, The Middlesex County Catholic School Board as well as more than half a dozen 5-10 acre estates. It was in the winters here that he took courses on pruning, insect and disease control and graduated from the University of Guelph’s Turf Managers Course in 1972.
