The Art Smith Aviation Academy (ASAA) is nestled within the heart of 4 Wing Cold Lake, Canada’s largest fighter base. The roar of overhead jets provides the perfect inspirational tone for the complete aviation learning experience. The Academy is an 'alternative program school' within Northern Lights School Division. We provide a K to 8 program in both English and French Immersion to all families in the Cold Lake area. The school also takes pride in being able to focus on the specialized needs of military dependants while supporting students of the area surrounding 4 Wing Cold Lake. Members of the Canadian Forces and the Department of National Defence lend a collective hand to the aviation program of the ASAA. As positive role models for the students who attend the academy, the aviators and support members of the defence team provide the benefit of their experience, training and knowledge to ASAA’s students.

With this information I start to prioritise. The reality is that different jobs do have different priorities. When budget and schedule are generous you have a large palette to choose from when it comes to executing the job. The palette shrinks when the job is lean. That does not necessarily mean you have to compromise the creative outcome. I look back at some jobs that only left room for a simple approach and in the end the creative outcome was the best for the given script.
