Zac's philosophy reflects the view of children as being competent, capable, curious and rich in potential with the support of age appropriate equipment, flexible routines, and provocative environments that encourage curiosity.
Our goals for children are consistent with the Ministry of Education pedagogy and include the following:
-Every child has a sense of belonging when he or she is connected to others and contributes to the world.
-Every child is developing a sense of self, health, and well-being.
-Every child is an active and engaged learner who explores the world with body, mind, and sense.
-Every child is a capable communicator who expresses himself or herself in many ways.
We believe that children thrive on love and a sense of direction, and that children learn best in a caring environment. We understand that the early years are among the most important of your child's life and we provide a stimulating well balanced program of learning and play.
Central Day Care Centre originated in 1971 by Cathy Seward. She developed Central Daycare into a place where children felt comfortable, came to learn, and were provided with the at home feeling. In 1997 Laura Martindale and Florence Kuhnen took over the centre.
